FAROG ANWAR
Farog Anwar is a young CHANDERI weaver from Madhya Pradesh, he and his forefathers have practiced this handloom weaving for more than 90 years. He learnt Chanderi weaving from his father Mahmood Ahmad. His grandfather has won an award from Govt. of India for Chanderi weaving. He has been weaving chanderi weaves since he was 7 years old. ARSHAD ALI
Arshad Ali belongs from a community of KOTA DORIA weave. She is from a village Kaithun near Kota, everyone right from young children to older men and women in the village are involved in Kota doria by handloom weaving process at some point. Kota Doria fabric was always the royal fabric of Rajasthan. Initially it was worn as head gear by royal court members. Later it was used as Dhoti, much later it became famous as Sarees. In the present time around 3000 families still live in Kaithoon and still earn their earning by weaving of Kota Doria. One Sequin brings you the best handpicked range of Dupattas to you.
KUSHAL PARMAR
Kushal Parmar is a young PATAN PATOLA weaver from Gujarat, he and his forefathers have practiced this handloom weaving of Patan Patola for more than 65 years. He learnt Patola weaving from his father and friends. PATAN PATOLA is one of the most difficult forms of weave in the world and Kushal is one of the very few weavers that are still performing this weave form. It takes about 30-50 days to weave a PATAN PATOLA piece because of its complexity and difficulty in weaving but the results are indeed more than beautiful. ALLAUDDIN ANSARI
Allauddin Ansari is a banarasi weaver from Varanasi, he has learnt this craft from his father and his entire family is involved in one or the other process of weaving. Banarasi weaving is a 700 year old ancient weaving technique. It is a traditional art of weaving with an emphasis on Naksha and Jala. Allauddin specializes in jangla and fekua technique. He also weave one of the most difficult Jamdanis with utmost perfection.
Aarati Patil
Aarti didi she is our Paithani weaver! We at One Sequin thrive For women empowerment and Aarti didi is a great example of that. She’s been weaving Paithanis for over a decade now. She says, she learnt weaving because she was genuinely interested in it and trust me, not a lot of people are ready to take up such difficult, time consuming and challenging jobs.
